Lived at Northorpe Farm, Wortley Wortley (St Leonard) Churchyard Extension The gravestone carries the inscription - We think of you in silence We often speak your name Lonely months have passed Since our great sorrow came LACW Turner, LACW Robertson, ACW Finch and ACW Poll were crossing the railway line at Rednal, Birmingham at 23.00 hrs behind a passenger train to return to their unit at 61 OTU, RAF and walked into an express goods train. Both Robertson and Turner were killed instantly, Finch and Poll were seriously injured. |
