The gravestone carries the inscription - "Thou takest only the best"
Was part of the crew of Wellington X3924 which took off from its base of Wing, Bucks at 19:18 on an evening cross country training flight. At 22:08 it collided with Wellington LN295 of 27 O.T.U. Both Wellington's fell near the gates of Alconbury, Huntingdonshire which was occupied by the USAAF. Miraculously both pilots survive but the remaining crew/passengers were killed.
